That's right, a Christopher Guest series on HBO!
Christopher Guest has a new series on HBO starring Chris O'Dowd as a man exploring his family heritage. Family Tree also stars Guest regulars Ed Begley Jr., Michael McKean, Fred Willard, Don Lake and Bob Balaban, and it's co-written by Jim Piddock, who also stars.
I'm just very excited about enjoying some weekly Christopher Guest whimsy on my TV. Guest hasn't directed a television series since Morton & Hayes in 1991, and I think 22 years is quite long enough. Chris O'Dowd is a newbie to the Guest universe, but something seems perfect about that pairing, like it's meant to be.
Family Tree hits HBO May 12.
